SWISS
HACKATHON 2026 — Orbital Infrastructure Challenge
Building the Future Operating Systems of the Orbital Economy. 48 hours of high-stakes engineering in the heart of Lucerne.
Switzerland's premier orbital infrastructure challenge.
This is not a student hackathon. It is a national innovation platform — bringing together Swiss precision engineering, deep-tech capital and orbital ambition.
Six flagship challenges. Forty-eight hours. One mission: position Switzerland as the operational hub of the orbital economy.

48-hour engineering sprint at Technopark Luzern. Direct access to industrial mentors.
Mentoring & Pilot Exploration
Winning teams move into structured mentoring and industrial pilot pathways.
Official Submission & Traceability
Ensuring fairness, transparency and technical integrity throughout the entire innovation process.
Unlike traditional hackathons where development starts only on the event day, the Swiss Hackathon introduces an Official Development Window.
Registered participants will be authorised to officially begin developing their projects up to seven days before the on-site hackathon.
Every project follows an official submission workflow designed to guarantee transparency, equal opportunity and complete traceability.
The objective is not simply to build prototypes faster, but to encourage deeper technical validation, stronger engineering practices and higher-quality solutions.
The Swiss Hackathon is designed to promote engineering excellence rather than last-minute coding. By introducing an official development period together with a structured submission workflow, participants can dedicate more time to validation, testing and documentation while maintaining complete fairness and transparency for all teams.
