How personal data is handled across registration, communication and participation in Swiss Hackathon 2026.

Last updated · August 2026

1. Data controller

Swiss Hackathon 2026 is organised by the Space Systems Innovation Platform (SSIP), together with TECHNOPARK® Luzern and HSLU.

Questions regarding this policy or the processing of your personal data can be sent to contact@ssip-pl.ch.

2. Data collected through registration

When you register as an individual participant we collect the information you submit in the registration form, which may include your name, email address, telephone number, professional role, organisation, professional profile link, country of residence, background information and any logistical preferences you provide.

For team registrations we additionally collect the team name and, for each declared team member, the information entered by the team leader. Team leaders are responsible for informing their team members that their data is being submitted.

3. Contact and partnership enquiries

If you contact us by email or telephone regarding participation, sponsorship, partnership or press matters, we process the contact details and the content of your message in order to respond and to manage the enquiry.

4. Event attendance, photography and video

Attendance at the on-site event may be recorded for organisational purposes such as check-in and access control.

Photography and video may be captured during the event for documentation and communication purposes. Where you do not wish to appear in such material, please inform the organising team on site or in advance at contact@ssip-pl.ch.

5. Email communication

We send transactional emails related to your registration, such as confirmation messages and event information. Where an unsubscribe option is provided in an email, it applies to non-essential communication; essential messages about your registration may still be sent.

6. Technical data, hosting and analytics

This website and its registration backend are operated on the Lovable platform, with data storage provided through its managed Supabase infrastructure.

For security and abuse prevention we process technical request data, including an irreversible hash of the IP address used to submit a registration. Automated submission protection is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile.

We do not deploy advertising cookies. Any analytics used is limited to aggregate usage measurement.

7. Recipients and international transfers

Personal data is accessible to the organising team and to the technical service providers listed above, acting on our behalf.

Some of these providers may process data outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers under their applicable data protection terms.

We do not sell personal data. Personal data of participants is not transferred to sponsors or partners unless you have explicitly consented to such contact.

8. Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to organise and document the event, to comply with applicable legal obligations, and to handle any follow-up arising from your participation. Data that is no longer required is deleted or anonymised.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, and objection to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise these rights, write to contact@ssip-pl.ch. We may ask for information to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated as the event programme evolves. The version published on this page is the applicable version.
