Terms of Participation

The rules that govern registration, participation, judging and awards at Swiss Hackathon 2026.

Last updated · August 2026

1. Organiser

Swiss Hackathon 2026 is organised by the Space Systems Innovation Platform (SSIP), together with TECHNOPARK® Luzern and HSLU. The event takes place from 2–4 October 2026 in Lucerne, Switzerland.

2. Eligibility and minimum age

Participation is open to individuals aged 18 or over at the start of the event. Participants must be able to attend on site and must provide accurate registration information.

3. Registration and acceptance

Registration does not automatically grant participation. Submissions are reviewed by the organisers, and acceptance is confirmed by email. The organisers may decline or withdraw a registration, in particular where information is inaccurate, where capacity is reached, or where these terms are not respected.

4. On-site attendance

Swiss Hackathon 2026 is an on-site event. Accepted participants are expected to complete check-in and to be present for the official programme, including the final demonstrations.

5. Team formation

Teams consist of a minimum of two and a maximum of six people in total, including the team leader. Each participant may belong to one team only. Team composition changes after registration require organiser approval.

6. Code of conduct

All participants, mentors, jury members and partners are expected to behave respectfully and professionally. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, plagiarism and any behaviour that endangers people or property are not tolerated and may lead to immediate exclusion without refund or compensation.

7. Project development

Projects are developed during the official development window announced by the organisers. Pre-existing work may be used as a foundation where it is clearly declared, but the substantive work presented must be produced during the event.

8. Third-party software, data and services

Participants are responsible for ensuring that any third-party code, model, dataset, service or asset they use is licensed for such use and that all applicable terms are respected.

9. Intellectual property

Participants retain ownership of the intellectual property they create, unless they enter into a separate written agreement. Participation does not automatically transfer intellectual-property rights to the organisers, sponsors or partners.

By presenting a project, participants grant the organisers a non-exclusive right to show the project name, team name and a general description in event documentation and communication.

10. Confidential information

Participants should not disclose confidential information they are not entitled to share. Presentations, demonstrations and judging take place in a setting that is not confidential, and the organisers cannot guarantee confidentiality of what is presented.

11. Judging

Projects are evaluated by an independent jury according to the published criteria. Jury members with a conflict of interest are excluded from evaluating the project concerned. Jury decisions are final.

12. Awards

Awards are announced by the organisers and are subject to the conditions communicated with them. Awards may be adjusted or withdrawn where a project is found not to comply with these terms.

13. Sponsor and partner benefits

Sponsor and partner benefits concern visibility, access and programme participation. They do not grant sponsors or partners any rights over participant projects, nor access to participant personal data, except where a participant has explicitly consented to professional contact.

14. Lovable credits

Lovable participates as a technology partner and in-kind contributor. Each accepted participant who completes on-site check-in is eligible for one allocation of 100 Lovable credits.

Credits are provided subject to eligibility, verification, availability and Lovable's applicable terms. They have no cash value and may not be transferred or exchanged unless expressly permitted.

15. Photography and video

Photography and video may be captured during the event and used for documentation and communication. Participants who do not wish to appear in such material should inform the organising team.

16. Participant responsibility

Participants are responsible for their own equipment, data, travel, accommodation, insurance and personal belongings, and for compliance with applicable laws and venue rules.

17. Changes or cancellation

The organisers may adjust the programme, format, dates, venue or content, or cancel the event, where circumstances require. Participants will be informed as early as reasonably possible.

18. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the organisers are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, loss of data, loss of profit, or damage arising from the conduct of other participants or third parties. Liability for intent and gross negligence remains unaffected.

19. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The applicable place of jurisdiction is determined in accordance with Swiss law and the organiser's registered seat.

20. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@ssip-pl.ch or by telephone on +41 78 325 89 19.
